Kochanova: Uzbekistan and Belarus are firmly bonded by friendship and brotherhood

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Belarus are firmly bonded by friendship and brotherhood, stated Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, during the plenary session of the Second Uzbek-Belarusian Women’s Business Forum, as reported by BELTA.

"Uzbekistan and Belarus are connected by strong ties of friendship and brotherhood. We share a common history, mutually beneficial trade and economic partnerships, as well as close cultural and humanitarian links. But most importantly, it is the spiritual kinship between Belarusians and Uzbeks, our desire to live by our own laws and traditions, develop our national identity, and pursue our own path," emphasized Natalia Kochanova. She also noted that the high level of bilateral relations achieved is primarily due to the leaders of our countries. The signing of the Cooperation Development Plan for 2024-2025 during the official visit of the Belarusian leader to Uzbekistan in February this year, along with several other important documents, will elevate interstate cooperation to a new strategic level.

Natalia Kochanova also highlighted that in today’s world, characterized by high uncertainty, tension, and global challenges, the civilized dialogue established between our countries and peoples is of exceptional value. "We must preserve this value and pass it on to future generations," she added.

The Belarusian delegation, led by Natalia Kochanova, is on an official visit to Uzbekistan. Currently, the Second Uzbek-Belarusian Women’s Business Forum is taking place in Tashkent, with approximately 100 representatives from Belarusian business circles and government bodies participating.

The Council of the Republic also reminded of the results of the First Belarusian-Uzbek Women’s Business Forum, where 14 memoranda and cooperation agreements were signed, including an agreement on the establishment of a joint leather and footwear production, and 15 contracts worth over $90 million were concluded, equivalent to 350 billion soums.
