Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Khokim of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, Mr. Won Doyeon.

Shavkat Umurzakov congratulated Mr. Won on his appointment and expressed confidence that this milestone would mark the beginning of a new phase of fruitful cooperation between the two nations. The khokim emphasized that despite the high level of political dialogue, the potential for collaboration at the regional level remains underutilized.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to enhance partnerships in areas such as tourism, healthcare, culture, and education. Special focus was placed on the exchange of information and the development of business dialogue as key tools for strengthening bilateral relations.

Mr. Won Doyeon praised the changes in Tashkent over the past two years and highlighted the interest of South Korean business circles in operating in Uzbekistan’s market.

The meeting also featured presentations on major projects in road infrastructure, energy, water supply, trade, and services. Particular attention was given to the "Yangi Avlod" Special Economic Zone in the Yangihayot district, showcasing its potential and investment opportunities.

Both sides agreed to continue dialogue and explore new opportunities to further strengthen cooperation for the mutual benefit of their nations.
