Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Khokim of Bekabad district of Tashkent region Shukhrat Mirzaev was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds.

According to Kun.uz, he was arrested as part of an anti-corruption campaign, and a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to him.

It should be noted that Shukhrat Mirzaev was appointed to the post of khokim of Bekabad district four months ago. Before his appointment, he worked as deputy head of the Qishloq Qurilish Bank department for accounting and reporting.
