Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 May 2024, the CIS Executive Committee hosted a meeting between the CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev and the delegation of Uzbekistan led by the khokim of the Andijan region Shukhrat Abdurakhmonov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of direct contacts between the Andijan region and Russian regions, as well as issues of developing cooperation in the areas of business and investment.

As part of the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan plans to hold meetings at the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and the Russian oil and gas company Zarubezhneft, where a Memorandum on the construction of solar panels in Andijan will be signed. The delegation of Uzbekistan will also visit the Irkutsk region to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation.
