Khiva to Host the “Melon Festival” in August 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 8 to 10 August 2025, the city of Khiva will host the traditional “Melon Festival” at the Ichan-Kala and Arda Khiva tourist complexes.
The event is aimed at widely promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and attracting both domestic and international visitors to the Khorezm region.
The festival is organized by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Khorezm regional administration. As part of the event, an exhibition and fair will be held, showcasing melons grown in various districts of the region. Each district will present its own pavilion, decorated to reflect local customs and cultural features.
The festival program includes theatrical performances and puppet shows, demonstrations of traditional Uzbek clothing, exhibitions of Uzbek cuisine—including traditional Khorezm flatbread—craft fairs, concerts by creative and folk groups, masterclasses in applied arts, and exhibitions of painting and visual arts.
Active participants of the festival will be awarded valuable prizes from the Khorezm regional administration and festival partners. Winners will be selected in various themed categories.
The main festival events will take place on 8–9 August at the Ichan-Kala historical and architectural complex, and on 10 August at the Arda Khiva tourist complex, where the final gala concert will be held, featuring renowned performers from Uzbekistan and abroad.
The “Melon Festival” has become an integral part of the cultural life of Khorezm, drawing numerous guests every year, supporting the preservation of national traditions, boosting tourism, and strengthening international cultural dialogue.
