Kazan-2021: Uzbekistan wins 4 medals in Greco-Roman wrestling

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 3 September, within the framework of the I Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a Greco-Roman wrestling competition was held at the Ak Bars Sports Palace in Kazan.

In the team event in Greco-Roman wrestling, Uzbekistan won 4 medals, of which 2 are silver and 2 are bronze.

Our compatriot Abror Atabaev won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 63 kg. Jamol Jumaboev also won the bronze medal in the weight category up to 72 kg.

Murodjon Alimjanov competed in the weight category up to 77 kg and won a silver medal at the Games in Greco-Roman wrestling in Kazan-2021.

Muhammadkadir Rasulov, competing in the weight category up to 82 kg, also became a silver medalist.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, the Russian team won 5 gold medals, the Azerbaijan team won 3 gold medals, and the Belarus team won 2 gold medals. Teams from 7 countries took prizes in the team competition.

Freestyle wrestling competitions are being held today. In the evening, the official opening ceremony of the 1st Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States will take place.
