Representatives of two states reviewed issues of expanding trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, cooperation in agriculture and water management, transport, settlement of debts between energy companies and expanding legal base for cooperation.
The participants also considered issues of upcoming visit of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan Today. reported.
Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeev said Kazakhstan pays great attention to cooperation with Uzbekistan. He said the Kazakh side considers Uzbekistan as important strategic partner in Central Asia. “We pay important attention to development of trade-economic cooperation between our countries.”
Rustam Azimov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, underlined that the summit of leaders of two states is important event in the Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan made up US$1.2 billion, which makes up 1.7% in total trade turnover of Kazakhstan. Trade turnover fell by 33.3% in 2009 compared to 2008.
