The Kazakh communications system is going to become a major bridge between the West and East. The KazakhTeleKom (national phone operator of Kazakhstan) took up several projects to this end.
The company arranged an international forum in Almaty today to discuss ways of amplifying the capacity of international communications lines. An agreement and several protocols between Kazakh, Russian, Chinese and Uzbek telecommunications operators were signed at the meeting.
KazakhTeleKom has great transit potential. This was acknowledged by representatives of the famous British Telecom company, as well as Russian, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Chinese specialists, Kazakh TV reported.
A protocol on construction of the second main line was signed with the Uzbektelekom [Uzbek telecommunications company]. Uzbekistan will be able to use Kazakh transit lines thanks to the construction of a hub. KazakhTeleKom also signed protocols on construction of telecommunications lines with Chinese and Russian companies.
