Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Majlis of Kazakhstan (lower house of parliament) approved Wednesday a draft law “On ratification of the Protocol on amendments to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Charter signed on June 2002 in Saint Petersburg”.

The Protocol was signed in accordance with the decision of the SCO heads on 5 September 2003.

The article 10 of the Charter is amended due to the move of the SCO Regional Anti Terrorist Structure (RATS) from Bishkek to Tashkent.

The SCO, an inter-governmental organization founded in Shanghai in 2001, groups China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Pakistan, India, Iran and Mongolia are observer nations.
