Parliament of Kazakhstan approved a bill “On ratification of the Protocol on integration of the Organization of Central Asian Cooperation into the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC)” at a plenary session of the Mazhilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament), Kazinform reported.
At the session Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Anatoly Smirnov noted that the protocol had been signed on 23 June 2006, in Minsk.
With the promulgation of the protocol the treaty between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on establishment of the Organization of Central Asian Cooperation as of 28 February 2002, ceases to be effective.
