Economy30/07/2007Kashkadarya’s GDP increases by 10.6% in 1H
Gross domestic product (GDP) of Kashkadarya region increased by 10.6% year-on-year and industrial output rose by 13.6% year-on-year in the first half of 2007.
Agriclture output increased by 8.7% year-on-year and investments rose by 33.2% year-on-year in the reporting period. Retail trade turnover grew by 10.2% and services rose by 33.6%.
The region directed 80.2% of all investments to production and 19.8% to social sphere. Capacities of 110 industrial enterprises were increased and 38 companies attracted foreign investments.
Over 3,000 small and private businesses were launched in January-June and the share of small and private businesses in regional GDP made up 31.2%.
