Kashkadarya region’s GRP grows by 8.2% in 2009
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of gross regional product (GRP) made up 8.2% in Kashkadarya region, state-run news agency UzA reported.

Industrial output of the region rose by 16.6% in 2009 and production of consumer goods increased by 11.5%. Agriculture output rose by 3.4% and construction works up 3.8%.

The region’s retail trade turnover increased by 15.1%. Kashkadarya region’s exports almost doubled in the reporting period.

During 2009, about 300 small enterprises were opened in the region, which specialized in production of construction materials, food products and goods of light industry.

The real sector received about 460 billion soums of loans, of which 251 billion soums were long-term loans.

Share of services in GRP made up 28%, the report said.
