Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 11 to 13 May this year, the international festival "Ethno and modern fashion week" was organized in Kashkadarya region, as well as ethno-sport games, a gastronomic festival, an international competition of ethno and modern clothes, national fair of folk crafts and jewelry.

The event is carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism together with the Khokimiyat of Kashkadarya region and the Uzlegprom Association.

It is no coincidence that such festivals are held in Shakhrisabz, this is the country of the Timurids, which has a rich history and many cultural heritage sites.

The purpose of the event is to increase the flow of foreign and local tourists to the Kashkadarya region, the development of ethno-tourism, gastronomic and cultural tourism, and further strengthening the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.

The international festival "Ethno and modern fashion week" was attended by the famous designer from England Omar Mansour Sheikh, the founder of the brand "Omar Mansoor", the founder of the brand "Ladychic Paris" Lopez Artega from France, the creative designer and founder of the brand "X8" Lee Wonkwang, and also representatives of fashion and design from different countries, such as Malaysia, China, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan.

Speaking at the event, the founder of the Omar Mansoor brand, Omar Mansour Sheikh, emphasized:

“Uzbek national clothes, the taste and colorfulness of their production impressed me very much, and the idea of creating new creative samples of Uzbek fabrics for my collection was born. Here I exchanged ideas with Uzbek designers. We want to help in their work to promote Uzbek fashion on the world catwalks. I hope we can deliver good news on this."

Within the framework of the program, a scientific and practical conference was organized on the topic "National and modern fashion: theory, practice and experience", a fashion show, ethnosports competitions in the Yakkabag district, a demonstration of national cuisine, an exhibition of products of local masters, theatrical performances "Military exercises of Amir Temur" and master classes.

Also, excursions to the sights of the city of Shakhrisabz are organized.

The students of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and the National Institute of Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod, who participated in such events, received practical experience.

During the events, a press tour was organized for local and foreign media, as well as media content was prepared for the general public about the unique tourist destinations of Kashkadarya.
