Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Karakalpak yurt at the “Oq Qush” ("White Bird") complex in Nukus (Karakalpakstan) has been officially listed in the Guinness World Records. This was reported by the press service of the Committee for Tourism under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.
The yurt at the “Oq Qus” complex has been recognized as the largest undismantled yurt, with a diameter of 40.5 meters. The complex, which covers an area of 50 hectares, hosts a yurt exhibition that includes not only Karakalpak but also Kazakh, Turkmen, Kyrgyz, and Bashkir yurts.
The Guinness World Records certificate was presented to local authorities in the presence of Amanbai Orynbaev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes (Supreme Council) of Karakalpakstan.
The structure, standing 22 meters tall, was built by Orol Agro. On 20 August, the complex hosted a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and entrepreneurs from all regions of Uzbekistan, with over 300 participants.
