Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan recognizes the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Uzbekistan does not recognize Donetsk and Luhansk as separate republics. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov during his speech at the plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
The Foreign Minister noted that the situation around Ukraine causes serious concern in Uzbekistan. “Uzbekistan is committed to finding a peaceful solution to the situation and settling the conflict through diplomatic means,” he said.
To achieve peace, first of all, hostilities and violence must be immediately stopped, said Abdulaziz Kamilov.
The Minister noted that based on national interests, Uzbekistan will continue mutually beneficial cooperation with both countries.
Kamilov said that Uzbekistan would continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine at this difficult time.
Abudlaziz Kamilov also stated that Uzbekistan recognizes the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He added that Uzbekistan does not recognize Donetsk and Luhansk as separate republics.
