The organizers are the Fund Forum, the Chinese Foundation for International Problem Studies, the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, and the Academy of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan. The opening of the exhibition was preceded by a signing of a Memorandum on Cooperation between the Fund Forum and the Foundation for International Problem Studies, which took place as part of the visit by the Chinese delegation to Uzbekistan.
The Memorandum will help develop and cement mutual cooperation between the two foundations, particularly in mutual support in the sphere of culture, arts, education and scientific research.
The goal of the exhibition is to consolidate creative personalities from SCO countries, familiarize the public with artistic traditions of various countries and cultures, and revive traditions of the Silk Road. Each SCO member-state boasts nit only a unique cultural and historical legacy but also unique modern fine art. The exhibition reflects a dialog of the cultures, traditions and arts of SCO countries on a modern stage.
The exhibition is attended by over 50 artists from SCO countries: China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as artists from SCO observer countries – Bangladesh and Egypt. On display are over 100 paintings, wash drawings and silk pictures reflecting traditional motifs and modern topics, portraits and landscapes. But most importantly, they convey a sense of admiration for the surrounding world and a national originality of world perception.
The exhibition will last until 13 June.
