Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China hosted a conference on the development of cooperation between journalists from Central Asian countries and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.

The conference was organized by the Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and China News Agency. The conference was attended by media representatives from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The event was opened by Member of the Party Standing Committee, head of the propaganda department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Wang Jianxin, head of the propaganda department of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Liu Jianming and head of China News Agency Chen Luqun.

During the conference, journalists from China and Central Asia exchanged views on the development of cooperation in the information sphere and the implementation of joint projects.

It was noted that the media should serve as bridges between the peoples of Central Asia and China, providing reliable information about the countries of the region. It was emphasized that today China is striving to build good-neighborly and mutually beneficial relations with all its neighbors.

It was proposed to create a platform for cooperation between the media of Central Asia and China for the exchange of information, the exchange of experience and the organization of various joint projects.

As part of the conference, journalists from Central Asia visited the TBEA large industrial energy facility, grape and wine production facilities, an agricultural park and tourist sites.

Also, journalists from Central Asian countries held meetings with the leadership of the Xinjiang branch of the Chinese state news agency China News Service. It should be noted that this year the agency celebrates its 30th anniversary.
