Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Sarvarkhon Buzrukhanov is on a business trip to Japan as part of the delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan Masahito Moriyama. The parties discussed issues of human resource development and further expansion of cooperation between universities of Uzbekistan and Japan.

During the discussion, it was agreed that Japan would support efforts to train qualified engineers and technicians for Uzbekistan.

Also during the trip, Deputy Minister Sarvarkhon Buzrukhanov held individual meetings with a number of Japanese organizations and discussed issues of launching new projects.

An exchange of views took place on the proposal to launch a separate new program for the training of qualified engineers for Uzbekistan with financial support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

President of the Japanese Doctoral School of Political Science (GIRPS), Hiroko Ota, also received the delegation from Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to improve the qualifications of civil servants of Uzbekistan in this Japanese higher education institution.
