Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 January, an official ceremony was held in Tashkent to inaugurate the Japan Career Portal, a platform developed by Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The event was attended by Behzod Musaev, Director of the Migration Agency, and Akihiko Tanaka, President of JICA.
During the ceremony, the significance of the portal in strengthening ties between the two countries in the sphere of labor migration was emphasized. This initiative marks JICA’s first project in Central Asia aimed at developing human capital through employment in Japan’s industrial sector.
“I am confident that this portal, launched in Uzbekistan as the first of its kind in Central Asia, will become an indispensable tool for Uzbek youth and professionals seeking opportunities to study, work, and advance their skills in Japan,” said JICA President Akihiko Tanaka.
The Japan Career Portal serves as a comprehensive platform offering Uzbek citizens reliable information on opportunities for labor migration, education, and living in Japan. For Japanese employers, the portal provides detailed information on the professional qualifications and potential of Uzbek specialists.
As part of Japan’s “Specified Skilled Workers” program, discussions were held about expanding work opportunities for Uzbek citizens, increasing the number of Japanese language courses, enhancing professional training, and engaging major Japanese employers and recruitment companies in collaboration efforts.
The portal is available in Uzbek, Russian, and Japanese, and users can stay updated on news and developments via social media platforms.
