Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism, held a meeting in Tokyo with Motoyashi Yada, President of the Japanese travel company H.I.S. Co. Ltd. Japan is interested in increasing the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan, as the country is rich in cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and unique nature that attract Japanese travelers.
Mr. Yada emphasized that the Japanese tourism sector is keen on boosting tourist traffic to Uzbekistan, given the growing interest among Japanese travelers in visiting our country. In recent years, Uzbekistan has been conducting an active PR campaign to promote the country’s tourism potential, which has caught the attention of Japanese tourists interested in exploring the history and culture of Central Asia.
During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on improving favorable conditions for travel within Uzbekistan, discussing possibilities for increasing tourist flows to the country and conducting joint activities to enhance Uzbekistan’s recognition in Japan.
The meeting addressed the creation of new tourist routes, improving logistical connections, enhancing service quality in the tourism sector, as well as organizing joint events to promote Uzbekistan as a tourist destination in Japan.
Umid Shadiev noted that "Uzbekistan is pleased to cooperate with Japanese tourism companies and is ready to take all necessary measures to create favorable conditions for travel in the country." Motoyashi Yada stated that "Japanese tourists show great interest in Uzbekistan, and we are confident that this interest will only grow."
