Okada said based on this notion, Japan consistently pays attention to relations with Uzbekistan after the country achieved independence.
Japan supports efforts of Uzbekistan directed to transition to market economy and sustainable economic development in various sectors, he said. Japanese official said Japan plans to continue to render financial-economic assistance to such priority directions as infrastructure improvement, healthcare, staff training.
Okada said that economic cooperation of the privet sector is also important factor. He recalled that last September, investment agreement between Japan and Uzbekistan came into force. The sides are continuing to strengthen trade and investments. He recalled that Uzbekistan hosted the presentation of investment potential of Uzbekistan in Tokyo. He said that such efforts would be fruitful and boost private investments and trade.
Japanese official also stated that the human exchange play import role. He said that the sides should boost exchange between the countries in political level.
“Uzbekistan occupies important place in the region not only in geopolitical, but also in economic front. Uzbekistan possesses various natural and human resources, as well as huge opportunities for development. Uzbekistan and Japan has great technical power and opportunities for further developing mutual cooperation in economy, including trade and investment,” Okada noted.
“In future, the sides should boost exchange visits to attract Japanese companies into Uzbekistan, further expanding trade-economic relations, increasing new investments. In conditions of global economic development, it is necessary to present favourable investment climate to potential investors and I hope that the Uzbek side will continue to form investment climate.”
Okada said Japan and Uzbekistan are closely cooperating in solving various issues at international arena. Japan is intending to strengthen cooperation with Uzbekistan in climate change and reforming UN Security Council, as well as disarmament and non-proliferation.
