Yukihiko Ejiri noted that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has started its work in Uzbekistan in 195 and as of August 2012, total volume of Japan aid to Uzbekistan reached 143 billion yens within ODA loans, 21.5 billion yens as grant aid and 15 billion yens as technical assistance.

Speaking about projects in Uzbekistan, he said that JICA pays attention to each project and tries to increase output through monitoring and support.

JICA office in Uzbekistan organized a press tour to the projects of the organization in Uzbekistan to familiarize public with its activities.

During the press-tour, the journalists familiarized with such projects as JICA Volunteers Programme, Improvement of Social Protection and Rehabilitation of the Disabled people in Uzbekistan, and Seismology, Engineering Seismology and Disaster Management Policy.
