Japan envoy attends opening of projects in Ferghana Valley
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Tsutomu Hiraoka participated in the opening ceremony of Japan-funded projects in Ferghana Valley on 17-19 November.

The Government of Japan allocated US$220,000 to assist equipment of School No.2 in Kokand city (Ferghana region), School No. 24 of Andijan city (Andijan region) and No. 27 of Namangan district (Namangan region).

Japan allocated US$1.1 million for realization of 17 projects on equipment of medical and educational establishments in Uzbekistan in early 2008, of which 12 projects for US$812,086 were issued to equip schools.

Japanese ambassador said this year, about ten more grant-contracts within no-string aid to grass-root projects in education sphere will be signed.
