Pakhtakor Tashkent appointed James Shoulder as director of its academy and British specialist officially starts his work in new position from 1 February 2010.
Shoulder underlined that he will share his experience with colleagues in Pakhtakor’s academy and improve infrastructure.
British specialist said that he will use his contacts during his tenure in the Uzbek club, if management allows it and provide finances. He said Pakhtakor could invite specialists to hold various seminars and send local talents to academies of foreign clubs.
He underlined that the best academy is that which develops stars fully using its internal reserves. For example, he said, Middlesbrough academy develops more starts compared to academy of Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool.
Shoulder said he visited training sessions and he is impressed with young players. But he added that they should work on fitness, which plays key role in modern football. He said that he would recommend to invite Australian specialist Andrew Young.
“I will visit training and after that in cooperation with coaches we will analyze and try to find solutions for existing problems. I will also hold trainings with coaches to share my experience,” he said.
