JAECOO launches revolutionary torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology in new J8

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- OMODA & JAECOO, one of the world’s leading automotive brands, presented its new J8 car.

The J8 combines off-road fun with luxury, intelligence and safety. JAECOO’s ARDIS (All Road Drive Intelligent System) continues its development, pioneering the J8’s unique torque vectoring all-wheel drive system.

JAECOO’s torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology is superior to traditional all-wheel drive technology for off-road vehicles. It not only overcomes the performance limitations of traditional all-wheel drive, but also improves the SUV lifestyle with strong and reliable performance values.

Consider the history of the development of all-wheel drive systems: the first of them was the partial all-wheel drive system. However, lacking a center differential, it could not compensate for the difference in speed between the front and rear wheels in four-wheel drive mode, making it difficult to drive on the road.

A full-time all-wheel drive system was then created, incorporating a center differential that allows the vehicle to move smoothly over a variety of road surfaces, providing all-wheel drive driving. However, all-wheel drive systems are characterized by permanent all-wheel drive, which entails relatively high fuel consumption and usually fixed or poorly variable torque distribution, causing difficulties in intelligent distribution.

The J8’s torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology is unique among competitors and builds on the development of modern all-wheel drive technology, not only effectively solving the problems of terrain adaptation and fuel consumption, but also providing a new off-road experience in vehicle technical and compatibility.

Compared with traditional forms of all-wheel drive, JAECOO’s new torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology can monitor road conditions in milliseconds, quickly and intelligently distribute torque dynamically, accurately distribute torque between the front and rear axles, and adjust torque distribution to left and right wheels of the rear axle from 0 to 100%, providing the capabilities of "strong release, superior handling, high comfort and full adaptation", greatly improving the off-road travel experience for users and maximizing the overall safety of the vehicle.

Using multi-plate rear axle clutches and transmission system gears, torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology is able to instantly lock and distribute 100% of rear axle torque to one wheel. In the event of off-road extraction, when three wheels lose traction, the system can concentrate all available power on the remaining spare wheel on the rear axle, achieving up to 1,800 Nm of torque per wheel. This significantly increases the car’s ability to make independent choices and get out of difficult situations.

In normal driving conditions, especially when cornering, dynamic torque vectoring demonstrates its advantages. Once the vehicle’s sensors detect differences in grip between the left and right wheels, the system automatically adjusts torque distribution and modifies lateral forces on the vehicle. Compared with traditional all-wheel drive, the turning radius with torque vectoring technology can be reduced by about 15%, further enhancing the vehicle’s handling and stability, enabling it to turn with greater precision.

The system also includes an optimized all-wheel drive disengagement strategy. When the vehicle reaches a speed of more than 40 km/h and maintains it for five seconds, the system automatically switches to two-wheel drive mode and disengages the rear driveshaft. This eliminates judder and noise at high speeds, improves passenger comfort and NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) performance, and reduces fuel consumption by approximately 5%.

JAECOO’s torque vectoring all-wheel drive system also reduces wear on key components through an efficient transmission system. This technology structure undergoes stringent quality checks during the manufacturing process, increasing component life and reducing maintenance costs for users.

On uneven surfaces such as ice or sand, the system is able to adjust drive force based on the traction between the wheels, reducing the risk of getting stuck. This gives the vehicle a smooth start and reduces the chance of the tires becoming entangled in sand or skidding. JAECOO’s torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology opens up new possibilities for drivers, giving them safety and confidence on any road.

JAECOO’s new torque vectoring all-wheel drive technology represents a significant step forward in the development of the automotive industry. Its unique features, such as intelligent torque vectoring, optimized fuel consumption and improved road stability, make it a global market leader in all-wheel drive technology. The introduction of this technology into the J8 opens up new horizons for drivers, giving them the opportunity to enjoy safe and comfortable driving in all conditions.
