IUT and KAFOLAT Insurance Company announced the Mobile Software Development Contest among the students of the university in the second half of December 2015.

According to the contest rules, the participants should develop a mobile app for KAFOLAT Insurance Company.

Thirteen teams participated in the contest. In the first round of the contest, they presented concepts of the projects to the jury. The jury, consisting of representatives from KAFOLAT Insurance Company, selected five best teams, which passed to the final round of the contest.

In the final round, the finalists should present the completed " target="_blank">mobile apps to the representatives of KAFOLAT insurance companies.

As per the decision of the jury, the team consisting of Nodirbek Holiqulov, Rashid Tojiboev and Qudratullo Ismatov won the contest.

KAFOLAT insurance company handed over prizes and insurance policies to the winners and finalists of the contest.

Ilkhom Karimov, senior manager of the Department on information technologies and communication of Kafolat Insurance Company, said: “Our company is among Top ten enterprises of real sector of economy on the level of development and introduction of the ICT. The main goal from the organization of the project was to promote insurance culture and insurance business among young generation and provide opportunity to young developers to participate in automatization of some business processes of insurance company. It was difficult to select the winner from participating teams as all five projects were very good.”

Nodirbek Holiqulov said: “The contest was very interesting and challenging. I think that all five teams were eligible to be a winning team. It gave us a great experience and allowed all teams to improve their skills in development of mobile apps. We also increased our knowledge in the areas of insurance and marketing.”

It is worth to mention that the contest is a first joint project of new Center for Innovations and Industrial Cooperation under the Inha University in Tashkent. The new Center was created to expand research and innovative capacity of IUT, ensuring commercialization of results of scientific developments and intellectual activities, creating conditions for development of professional skills of students through their involvement to development of software, transfer of innovative products and services into the local and external markets.

Head of the new Center Sandjar Saidkhodjaev said: “We are grateful to KAFOLAT Insurance company for cooperation. Inha University in Tashkent pays a great attention to close cooperation with the businesses – domestic and foreign companies. The new Center was created in order to deepen such cooperation, create sustainable relations between science, education and business entities of various sectors of the economy. Speaking about the contest, I want to note that this new cooperation experience gave opportunity to our students to test their abilities in real IT project, improve their presentation skills that can aid them in selling their future products to potential clients. I am sure that this is an invaluable experience for our students, which cannot be replaced by any theory. I think it was also useful for expanding vision of students and allow them to be more prepared for the realities of the market, when they graduate the university.”

The Center for Innovations and Industrial Cooperation under the Inha University in Tashkent is open for cooperation and invites foreign and local companies into the realization of joint projects.
