The documents were signed during the visit of the delegation of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications to Silicon Valley (California, USA). The visit was organized within the framework of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States. The delegation included the rector of Inha University in Tashkent Sarvar Babakhodjaev.
During the visit to the US, the Uzbek delegation held meetings and negotiations with representatives of HP Tech Ventures, Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Facebook, Google Launchpad, Plug and Play, Openbucks, SAP, School 42, Webster University, IBM and Microsoft.
The delegation of Uzbekistan and representatives of leading companies discussed issues of cooperation, development and implementation of joint projects. Members of the delegation took an active part in the Uzbek-American business forum in New York, including as moderators.
As a result of the talks, the Rector of Inha University in Tashkent Sarvar Babakhodjaev signed memorandums of understanding with SAP and Openbucks.
Within the framework of the cooperation, IUT and SAP agreed to expand joint activities and initiate the creation of the SAP Next-Gen Lab for implementation of innovative developments for industrial partners and customers with the involvement of students of Inha University in Tashkent.
Within the framework of the signed memorandum, IUT and Openbucks intend to cooperate in the field of IT education. In particular, the parties intend to invite leading American experts to conduct lectures and transfer best practices and information for development of innovative projects and start-ups in the format of Silicon Valley Talks.
IUT rector Sarvar Babakhodjaev said: “The visit of the Uzbek delegation to the United States was fruitful. We got an opportunity to study the experience of the leading Silicon Valley companies and get acquainted with the latest trends of the IT market”.
“During the meeting and negotiations, the possibilities of cooperation in developing mechanisms for attracting investments to support IT startups in Uzbekistan under the auspices of the Innovation Center for Support of Development and Implementation of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center” were considered," the IUT head emphasized.
“These meetings and signed documents will give an additional impetus to the development of the IT sector in our country,” he added.
During the visit to the US, the delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings and discussions with compatriots from the United States and agreed to hold regular videoconferences for students of Uzbek universities in the field of information technology.
