Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 March 2019, the Startup Mix event was held at the Inha University in Tashkent as part of the Central Asian Week "Women in Science and Technology",which was attended by investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, experts of technology companies from four Central Asian countries, Silicon Valley companies and the UK.
The main goals and objectives of this event were:
Increasing the interest of our women and girls in innovative professions, social and business projects;
Exchange of experience with colleagues from Central Asia. Strengthening regional cooperation;
Attention to the problems of ecology and sustainable development in Karakalpakstan;
The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan Sharofiddin Rajabbayev, and the acting Rector of Inha University in Tashkent, Muzaffar Djalalov,FirstDeputy Chairman of the Central Council of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan Alisher Sadullayev, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Helena Fraser, director of the program for TechWomen Gillian Scott.
The seminars were held in parallel, in different audiences, and guests had the opportunity to choose the most interesting sessions for themselves. The conference language was in English (with synchronized interpretation), part of the sessions was held in Russian.
It should be noted that among the topics discussed were the following: investments, IT, artificial intelligence, science startups, design thinking, "green" business, social development, technological trends, and future professions, sustainable development, startups, and climate change, career opportunities in "green" technology.
Before the participants there were presentations given by the representatives of such companies as Google, Symantec, Apple, Zenefits, LinkedIn, Mozilla Corp., GoDaddy, Northgate Environmental Management, Lockheed Martin, Salesforce, Juniper Networks, Silicon Valley Social Ventures, Fast Forward, Unity Technologies and others.
