Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 February, representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan met with a delegation from Enterprise Singapore, led by Alan Yeo, Director for Europe and Central Asia.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation, including organizing visits for Uzbek specialists to Singapore, Enterprise Singapore’s participation in events in Uzbekistan, and joint initiatives to strengthen partnerships in IT services and tech entrepreneurship.
Established on 1 April 2018, Enterprise Singapore is a key government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. It supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in modernization, innovation, scaling, and international expansion. The organization also plays a crucial role in developing Singapore as a global trade and startup hub while serving as the national standards and accreditation body.
Collaboration between IT Park Uzbekistan and Enterprise Singapore began in 2022, with ongoing efforts to raise awareness about market opportunities in both countries and assist Singaporean companies in establishing a presence in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, key areas of partnership were discussed, including joint events such as UOC Singapore, bringing Singaporean companies for business visits to Uzbekistan, and enabling Uzbek startups to participate in the SWITCH technology forum if selected through Slingshot.
Special attention was given to knowledge exchange within the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative, focusing on regulatory improvements and best practices. Mahliyo Muksinova, Director for IT Services Export Development at IT Park, emphasized the importance of collaboration with Enterprise Singapore in advancing the IT-enabled services (ITES) sector, highlighting significant progress in Uzbekistan’s tech industry in recent years.
Alan Yeo commended Uzbekistan’s rapidly evolving IT ecosystem and acknowledged the government’s strong commitment to the sector. He noted the substantial changes in the ITES landscape since the partnership began in 2022, with each visit to Uzbekistan reinforcing the positive trajectory of the country’s tech environment.
The Singaporean side expressed keen interest in deepening collaboration and supporting businesses aiming to enter both markets. Amir Mardiev, Advisor for the Enterprise Uzbekistan project, underscored the importance of strengthening ties with Enterprise Singapore, pointing out structural similarities between both organizations and the vast potential for future cooperation.
The parties also explored possibilities for facilitating expert visits from Uzbekistan to Singapore and increasing Enterprise Singapore’s participation in Uzbek business events. The Singaporean delegation confirmed their willingness to organize business delegations to Uzbekistan and arrange networking meetings.
IT Park Uzbekistan, in turn, reaffirmed its commitment to hosting Singaporean partners, including B2G and B2B meetings, regional visits, and introductions to resident companies.
Concluding the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of further cooperation in IT ecosystem development and the startup industry. Strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Singapore will unlock new opportunities for entrepreneurs and foster deeper economic collaboration.
