Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Taking into account the best foreign experience, the draft of new Constitution proposes to transfer the powers to consider and approve the candidacy of the prime minister to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Legislative Chamber.

Deputy of the Legislative Chamber Jahangir Shirinov noted that, according to the draft constitution, before submitting a candidate for the Prime Minister to the Legislative Chamber, the President introduces a procedure for consultations with all factions of political parties. After approval by the Legislative Chamber, the President appoints the Prime Minister.

According to the current system, the nomination of a candidate for prime minister depended only on the will of the party that received the largest number of votes in the elections to the Legislative Chamber, Shirinov recalled.

Jahangir Shirinov stressed that the proposed new procedure will ensure the participation of all factions of political parties in the consideration of the candidacy of the prime minister. That is, the rules in this regard are becoming more democratic.
