It became known what land will be given for the construction of "New Tashkent"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As previously reported, 19.7 thousand hectares of land in the Yukorichirchik and Urtachirchik districts of Tashkent region are allocated for the construction of the New Tashkent project. 

Of these, almost 12.9 thousand hectares are agricultural land and 6.8 thousand hectares - other categories. The corresponding resolution was signed by the Head of State on 20 July this year.

The document specifies that in Yukorichirchik region - these will be the massifs of Uzbekiston, Dustlik, Surankent, Turkiston, Guliston, Iyk ota, Kibray (Nurmukhamedov), in the Urtachirchik region - Dustlik, Akhunbabaev, Kim Pen Hwa and the lands of the Rice Growing Institute.

It is noted that 11,478.4 hectares of irrigated land out of a total of 12,878.6 hectares of agricultural land will be transferred to the category of land of settlements.

According to the concept of the project, at the first stage, apartment buildings for 60 thousand inhabitants, 30 schools, 20 kindergartens, a multidisciplinary hospital and five family clinics will be built. The New Uzbekistan University, new buildings of the National Library, theater, art schools, shopping and service centers will also be located here.

Gradually, state institutions will also move to New Tashkent. Hotels, service and trade facilities will open in their buildings, and Tashkent will become a modern tourist and business center.

The start of the implementation of the New Tashkent project was given on 18 March 2023.
