Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A ministerial meeting of participants in the Trans-Afghan multimodal transport corridor covering Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan was held in Termez.

The meeting was attended by transport ministers of the participating countries, railway administrations and international road carriers.

At the event, a protocol was signed on the creation of a joint working group and a Road Map for the development of the transport corridor was adopted.

The prospects for the construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway and the possible creation of a Consortium for this project, which could include interested countries to develop a feasibility study and jointly finance the work, were also discussed.

In addition, bilateral meetings and business dialogues were held between forwarders and transport enterprises of the participating countries.

The next meeting, dedicated to the development and improvement of the efficiency of using international transport corridors, is scheduled for the XV International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”, which will be held in Kazan from 14 to 19 May 2024.
