Issues of quality assurance in the system of vocational education in Uzbekistan and the development of professional skills were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the European Union and the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, an international conference was organized on the theme "Quality assurance in the vocational education system of Uzbekistan and development of professional skills" on 4 May.

Paragraph 150 of the State Program for the Implementation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 in the “Year of Care for a Person and Quality Education”, approved by Presidential Decree UP-27 from 28 February 2023, defines the task of creating exemplary vocational educational institutions that fully meet the requirements of the European quality assurance system for vocational education and training (EQAVET).

The event was attended by more than 20 ministries and departments, representatives of international organizations and projects, experts in the field of education quality from Germany, Switzerland, France, Australia and other countries.

The conference included presentations by international and domestic experts on the possibilities of introducing EQAVET into the system of vocational education, priority tasks to be implemented in this direction, and advanced foreign experience.

The conference was dedicated to achieving a common understanding of the role of quality assurance policy based on international practice among all stakeholders, with a special focus on the proposed quality assurance policy through the implementation of several international models.

As a result of the conference, the draft Strategy for the Development of the Vocational Education System until 2030 was discussed, which is being developed jointly with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
