Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 December 2022, in Ashgabat, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Foreign Minister Gairat Fozilov met with the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Natalia Gherman.
During the negotiations, issues of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, in particular with UNRCCA were discussed.
The head of UNRCCA highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan in all areas. She emphasized the increasing activity of Uzbekistan in recent years within the framework of the UN and its structures.
As Natalia Gherman noted, Uzbekistan is a reliable partner of the UN and makes an important contribution to ensuring regional security and stability, strengthening good neighborliness in Central Asia, developing sustainable development and combating climate change.
She expressed her gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for jointly organizing and holding at a high level in March 2022 in Tashkent an international conference on the topic “Regional cooperation of the countries of Central Asia in the framework of the Joint Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy”.
The parties exchanged views on expanding and strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN.
