Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with Lord Malcolm Offord, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Business and Trade, UK Export Minister. This was reported by the Dunyo agency.

At the meeting, Lord Offord expressed the opinion that Great Britain sees Uzbekistan as one of the key partners in Central Asia and is interested in deepening cooperation with Tashkent in various fields.

Current aspects and prospects of trade, economic, investment and educational relations between countries were discussed.

Lord Offord supported ideas to expand internship and training programs for Uzbek civil servants in leading British institutions and companies.

Agreements were reached on organizing specialized training for Uzbek export enterprises on preferences within the British “Trading System for Developing Countries” and on the implementation of large investment projects in Uzbekistan with the involvement of funds from the British Export Finance Agency.

The parties also agreed on the participation of Uzbek representatives in the World Education Forum 2024, which will be held in London from 19 to 22 May.
