Issues of expanding the localization of production and industrial cooperation were considered

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 September, under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, a conference was held on the optimization of imports and the development of intersectoral and interregional industrial cooperation.

The meeting was attended by heads of ministries, departments, industry associations and local authorities of the regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the city of Tashkent.

It was noted that, according to the approved program, over the past period of this year, within the framework of the localization program, import-substituting products worth 24.3 trillion soums were produced. Through the electronic cooperation portal, 36.6 thousand cooperation agreements worth 7.9 trillion soums were signed, within the framework of which, to date, deliveries of products worth 3.7 trillion soums have been fully completed.

During the regional intersectoral industrial fairs organized in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Jizzakh, Syrdarya, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Namangan, Fergana, Andijan and Khorezm regions, 6.3 thousand contracts worth 2.8 trillion soums were signed, and about 220 memoranda of technical cooperation.

At the same time, topical issues were discussed in a constructive manner, including those related to the further implementation of the localization program, a decrease in the import of products, the analogue of which is already produced in the country, the fulfillment of the terms of contracts concluded through the electronic cooperation portal, as well as a decrease in the level of dependence on imports on large industry enterprises.

Responsible leaders of industry associations and local authorities presented detailed reports on the work done and plans for the near and medium term in the context of all the areas mentioned. Instructions were given to take measures to eliminate shortcomings and implement the localization program on time, develop a localization program for 2023-2024, which envisages the production of new types of import-substituting products by industry and region.

In a separate order, the issue of organizing the Republican intersectoral industrial fair in Tashkent in November of this year was considered.

Based on the results of the meeting, the relevant leaders were given additional instructions for the timely execution of the tasks set.
