Issues of establishing the Uzbek-Iranian Chamber of Commerce were considered

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, bilateral talks were held between Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan D. Vahabov and President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Iran Gholamhossein Shafei.

During the meeting, the parties discussed trade, economic and logistics issues, as well as Iranian entrepreneurs expressed great interest in the Central Asian market and put forward a proposal to create a production chain.

During the negotiations, issues of creating the Uzbek-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and establishing cooperation with the Tashkent International Arbitration Center were considered.

Agreements were also reached on organizing a visit to Uzbekistan of Iranian businessmen in the field of pharmaceuticals, building materials, agriculture, household chemicals, polyester and fiberglass, as well as on holding a Business forum and B2B meetings between businessmen of the two countries.

From 21 March 2022 to 20 January 2023, 102.9 million tons of goods worth US$45.3 billion were exported from Iran to 143 countries.

About 50 percent of exports are petrochemical products, 20 percent are mining products, 18 percent are agricultural and food products, and about 10 percent are industrial and handicraft products.

The main Iranian imports are machinery and equipment, including transport, vegetable products, knitted fabrics and linen, chemical products and metals.
