Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov met with a delegation led by the President of the German Travel Association (DTV) Norbert Fiebig. The visit of the delegation was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany and the Silk Road Samarkand International Tourist Center.

For information, DTV was founded on 10 August 1950 in Frankfurt am Main as an association of German travel agencies. The organization has over 10,000 members covering 90% of the country’s tourism sector, including travel companies, hotels, airlines and transport companies that are members or partners.

At a meeting in the ministry, issues of implementing the Destination Forum project (tourist forum of the largest and potential tourism organizations-members of the Association) were discussed with the aim of widely promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in Europe and increasing the flow of European tourists, promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan using the marketing resources of the Association, establishing direct charter flights from Germany to Samarkand, joint promotion of the tourist brand "Uzbekistan" in Europe as a safe country, attraction of the largest tour operators to Uzbekistan, which are members of the Association.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached between the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and DTV on the development of a joint media plan to implement all issues aimed at further strengthening and developing cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as on the implementation of the Destination Forum project in April 2023.

After the negotiations, the members of the foreign delegation visited the historical and cultural sights of Samarkand, Khorezm, Tashkent regions and the city of Tashkent, as well as got acquainted with new tourist sites and infrastructure.
