Issues of establishing bilateral relations between the regions of Uzbekistan and China were discussed in Shanghai

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai with Huang Xiaoyan, Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the meeting, the need was emphasized for the resumption after the period of the coronavirus pandemic in full bilateral cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and the province of Jiangxi, primarily in the areas of trade, economy, investment, public diplomacy, education and medicine, as well as determining the prospects for the implementation of joint projects.

Huang Xiaoyan highly appreciated the level of development of cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. In this regard, the leadership of Jiangxi Province plans to take effective measures to intensify mutually beneficial contacts and exchanges with Uzbekistan.

To this end, a Chinese delegation led by Deputy Governor of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province Sun Hongxian plans to visit Uzbekistan to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, transport and logistics, and education.

Huang Xiaoyan also voiced the intention of the leadership of Jiangxi Province to consolidate bilateral friendly relations by establishing sister city relations with one of the regions of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that at the present stage, Uzbekistan is confidently following the path of large-scale reforms aimed at further developing the country and improving the well-being of the people. The participants were provided with detailed information on the course of large-scale socio-political and socio-economic transformations being carried out in Uzbekistan.

The guests also got acquainted with the information about the forthcoming July 9 early elections of the President of Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan pays special attention to ensuring the legal rights of its citizens in China, and creates all conditions for the exercise of their constitutional rights. In this regard, polling station No. 50 was established at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai, where citizens of Uzbekistan living in Shanghai, Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Zhejiang provinces will have the opportunity to vote on election day.

The Chinese side noted that the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan will be held at a high organizational level, and the Uzbek people will make the only right choice in favor of the candidate who will most effectively lead Uzbekistan along the path of progress and prosperity.
