Issues of direction for employment of graduates of professional educational institutions in the UK were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 April, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kogratbai Sharipov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Uzbekistan Timothy Smart.

During the conversation, the parties confirmed that one of the priority areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK is education.

An exchange of views took place on the further expansion of relations between the two countries, including on the implementation of agreements reached during yesterday's visit of British Foreign Secretary David Cameron to Tashkent.

Issues of targeted training of graduates of professional educational institutions of Uzbekistan to send them to the UK for decent and legal work were also discussed.

The Ambassador was pleased to note that from this year the number of UK Chevening educational grants for Uzbekistan has been doubled.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue British Council projects to improve the quality of education and create an effective management system, implement the British Pearson educational program in Uzbekistan, as well as train specialists and university graduates to send them to work in the UK.
