Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 October, a seminar was held in Tashkent on the topic of digital energy development, considering the possibilities of developing the sector from the perspective of introducing innovative energy-saving technologies into the ICT sector and taking into account the use of renewable solar energy sources.
Huawei executives and experts, managers and specialists of relevant organizations, partners and regulatory experts studied the experience of global construction of a green, efficient, flexible, intelligent and sustainable energy system in order to accelerate the qualitative development of digital energy in the country.
More than 100 leading specialists, experts and partners of Huawei Digital Power gathered at the seminar to discuss advanced technologies and innovative solutions for such areas as data centers, digital and renewable energy and share successful global experience in order to strengthen digital and energy infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
The Director of Huawei Datacenter Facility and Critical Power Business in the Middle East and Central Asia region, Mr. Wang Qiang, made a presentation on "Global trends in Data Center Solutions for building an eco-friendly future," noting that as the digital economy develops, global networks, computing power and data volume are rapidly growing. "The foundation for maintaining this process is data centers, communication networks and sensor devices. Huawei aims to provide more connections per watt and squeeze more computing power out of each watt by creating a new energy infrastructure for the digital industry, reducing the energy gap to power the digital world," Wang Qian added.
At the session on the development of renewable solar energy, the head of Huawei Smart PV Channel Business in the Middle East and Central Asia region, Mr. Jin Yu, presented the company’s vision for achieving carbon neutrality as soon as possible based on photovoltaics technologies and energy storage systems. "As technology develops, the costs of generating solar electricity will continue to decrease. The commercial value of photovoltaic energy production far exceeds the value of fossil fuel extraction. However, a high level of penetration of renewable energy sources can affect the stability of the power grid. Despite these challenges, Huawei Digital Power continues to innovate and promote the convergence of bits and watts, as well as the convergence of photovoltaic and energy storage systems (ESS), integrating renewable energy sources into the network with support for uninterrupted operation. To this end, Huawei Digital Power works closely with its customers and partners to accelerate the creation of new energy systems and achieve carbon neutrality goals."
Considering that digital energy is an ecosystem industry, Huawei Digital Power division has been adhering to the principle of steady work with regulators and industry partners in Uzbekistan since 2021. An example of this is the close cooperation with the certified regional VAP partner Photomate, together with which a number of projects on the implementation of solar solutions have already been implemented in Uzbekistan. "During the first year of work in Uzbekistan, the Czech company Photomate, thanks to joint work with Huawei and close cooperation with partners, was able to successfully implement more than 50 MW of equipment, help with the installation and connection of 50 stations, and also conducted dozens of technical trainings for local engineers. In general, Photomate sees great prospects for Uzbekistan in the direction of solar energy and hopes for further fruitful cooperation with local and international companies," said Alexander Shamrov, Photomate’s Regional Director for the Caucasus and Central Asia.
During the event, the participants also got acquainted with the company’s policy on working with partners in the field of digital energy and studied photovoltaic solutions for the commercial, industrial sectors and for the market of household solar power plants and charging stations for ultrafast charging of electric vehicles.
