Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 May 2019, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation led by Chairwoman of the Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on Environment and Labor Chung Hye-chul.

During the meeting, multifaceted cooperation, the current state and prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, as well as ongoing work and plans for the future to develop cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea in the fields of ecology, environmental protection, labor and employment were discussed.

Tanzila Narbaeva focused on the need to consistently continue the political dialogue between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, including the importance of establishing systemic cooperation regarding the development of projects in the areas of labor migration, green energy, digital infrastructure, expanding legal, organizational and institutional opportunities in this direction.

In turn, Chung Hye-chul noted that the Republic of Korea is implementing several large investment projects in Uzbekistan, in particular, it is interested in further expanding joint innovative projects to restore clean drinking water resources in the Aral Sea region and mitigate other consequences of environmental problems.

Jung Hye-chul also congratulated on the successful holding of an important political event in our country, the referendum, and stressed that cooperation between the two countries is strengthening every year. Along with this, he noted that the rejection of forced labor in Uzbekistan and the prohibition of child labor were highly appreciated in the international arena, it is planned to further intensify and expand the scale of official immigration work.

During the conversation, the parties expressed their readiness to bring inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries to a new level, to establish cooperation not only in the field of labor relations and ecology, but also in other areas.
