Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 12 September 2019, a meeting was held at the Central Bank with an ADB delegation led by Treasurer Pierre Van Petegham, during which issues of expanding cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the issue of bonds in national currency on international capital markets were discussed.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues regarding the assistance of the Asian Development Bank in financing projects through the issuance of offshore bonds linked to local currency.

It was noted that in the future, ADB will be able to significantly expand its operations in the domestic market, including through the introduction of instruments in the money market.

The parties also discussed issues of cooperation between ADB and the Central Bank, in particular in the field of technical assistance and capacity development.
