Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 April, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank.
During the meeting, issues of implementing the large-scale project "Digital Inclusion in Uzbekistan" with the participation of the World Bank were discussed. The project assumes the implementation of measures to develop the digital economy, e-government, digital infrastructure, and IT education.
Special attention was paid to such an important area as the development of BPO and KPO services. As noted, increasing youth employment through their wide involvement in the field of ICT and the creation of highly paid jobs is one of the priority tasks in the activities of the Ministry. With this in mind, the project "Digital Inclusion in Uzbekistan" with the participation of the World Bank provides for the creation and equipping of centers for the provision of remote services (BPO-centers).
The parties noted the importance of the project in the framework of the digital development of Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness to mobilize all efforts for its effective implementation and expansion of cooperation in the field of ICT.
