Issue of improving indicators in the global innovation index was studied

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An online meeting was held between Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov and Head of the Department of Economics and Statistics of the World Intellectual Property Organization, co-editor of the Global Innovation Index report Sasha Wunsh-Vincent. 

During the meeting, issues of further improving the position of Uzbekistan in the Global Innovation Index, published annually by WIPO, providing information not included in the report and updating outdated information, and jointly organizing work to include them in the report for 2023 were discussed.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the Agency for Innovative Development Olimjon Tuychiev, Director of the National Office for Innovation and Technology Transfer Farhod Jumaev, who is currently on a business trip in Geneva, and Askar Mirsaidov, a representative of the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan in Geneva.

During the conversation, WIPO’s assistance in building relationships between international organizations responsible for GII indicators and the ministry was noted, cooperation with international organizations in the formation of information regarding indicators that are missing and outdated in the GII report for 2022, joint work was discussed to fully reflect in the GII 2023 report.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to organize international and local seminars to further improve the quality of inputting information on indicators, to attract foreign experts on GII indicators.
