Issue of attracting investments in medicine of Uzbekistan from Lombardy was discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of an official visit to Italy last month, the head of state met with Governor of Lombardy Attilio Fontana and discussed prospects for developing mutually beneficial large-scale cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

As part of the agreements reached then, the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Amrillo Inoyatov, held a dialogue via videoconference with the social security adviser of Lombardy, Guido Bertolazo, and representatives of the Assolombarda association.

It was noted that Assolombarda is the largest industrial association in Lombardy and acts as a kind of center that brings together representatives of the fields of medicine and biology.

The Association consists of a complex structure of the healthcare system, which includes, among other things, a patronage service, a polyclinic, emergency medical care, rehabilitation, research institutions, institutions for working with people with disabilities and the elderly.

During the conversation, G. Bertolazo and representatives of Assolombarda expressed their readiness to assist in the implementation of projects in the following areas:

introduction of the Lombard regional model in the healthcare sector, exchange of experience in the treatment of chronic diseases, patient care, medical procedures, financing of the social security system;

investing in medical institutions of our country;

improving the skills of specialists in disease prevention and control;

development of the healthcare system in Uzbekistan.

Lombardy is one of the most populated and largest regions of Italy, and is also one of the most economically developed regions of the country. It forms 22 percent of the country’s total GDP and, according to this indicator, ranks fifth in the European Union.
