The event was organized by the Embassy of Israel in Uzbekistan, Israeli centre for international cooperation “Mashav” with the support of the Uzbek ministry of Healthcare.
During their visit, the Israeli doctors examined hundreds of patients, operated on many patients, delivered lectures and executed consultations with Uzbek doctors.
The ophthalmologists Amos Mazover and Yakov Rozman started their mission in the Uzbek Republican Centre for eye-microsurgery and Republican Ophthalmological hospital in Tashkent. Then, the Israeli team moved to Urgench and worked at the local branch of Uzbek Republican Centre for eye-microsurgery. In Urgench they operated on more than a dozen patients suffering from cataract and glaucoma and hundreds patients were checked. They introduced new methods in operation, such as express shunt.
All necessary equipment and medication for their activity were brought by the Israeli doctors from Israel.
The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, due to its true care for the good of the people of Uzbekistan, coordinated and helped organized this project.
