“This ongoing collaboration is facilitated by the arrival of an Israeli expert in the field of milk production and livestock breeding, who stays in Uzbekistan to give advice on these issues to Uzbek farmers,” the statement reads.
In the end of November 2008 two Israeli experts from company Sion came to Uzbekistan in order to give a number of seminars and practical trainings on artificial insemination of cows. These seminars took place in Kui-Chirchik and Chinas districts of Tashkent region and later in Karakalpakistan.
“Experts Dani Gilad and Tibi Shefer shared Israeli experience on modern technologies of breeding milking cows, artificial insemination and new methods of veterinarian care. Special diagrams, tables and computations will assist local farmers to fix the exact time for the procedures and not only improve quality of stock but increase the number of calves as well. The practical training allowed Uzbek farmers to get necessary skills in artificial insemination,” the statement said
According to the plan of the Joint UNDP and Mashav project on sustainable development of livestock, Israeli experts on nutrition will come to Uzbekistan in the beginning of 2009.
