About 40 Uzbek water specialists and representatives of international organizations attended the briefing, in which the Ambassador presented details regarding latest developments in the fields of Desalination, Water Management, Combating Desertification, Water Security and water treatment.
A short film was screened presenting latest updates on water issues in Israel. An additional speaker presented Israeli irrigation systems, stating that such systems could improve water efficiency and the growth of crops in Uzbekistan.
Similarities between Israel and Uzbekistan were noted: the hot climate, salinity of the soil and the fact that both countries are Agricultural based, the release said.
Participants were encouraged to participate in a special conference in Israel called WATEC (Water Technology) to take place in November, with a projected 20,000 exhibition attendees, from more than 80 countries including Uzbekistan, exhibiting the latest techniques in the field of water efficiency, modern irrigation systems and combating the challenges of urbanization and global warming.
