Israeli business community informed about Tashkent International Investment Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A round-table discussion was held in Israel on the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum, Dunyo reported.

Representatives of business circles, the banking sector, the World Congress of Bukhara Jews, the public organization Brit Yotsei Bukhara (the Union of immigrants from Bukhara), as well as journalists, participated in the event organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel together with the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT). 

The participants were acquainted with the large-scale transformations in Uzbekistan, including in the field of economic liberalization and improving the investment climate, stimulating investment attraction, as well as the main achievements of the republic in the economic sphere in 2020, voiced in the Message of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Detailed information was presented on the goals, objectives and importance of holding an investment forum in Tashkent, its agenda and program.

President of HIT E. Yakubov in his speech spoke about the results and prospects of academic cooperation between universities of the two countries, the opportunities created in Uzbekistan for doing business, as well as the prospects for developing mutually beneficial partnerships in the field of high technology, medicine, agriculture, construction, water management and other areas. He called on Israeli representatives of business circles to work more actively to enter the Uzbek market and invest in promising areas. E. Yakubov also stated his readiness to provide all possible support to Israeli businessmen in terms of providing advice and venues for mutual meetings.

During the round table, Israeli business representatives shared information on the potential for trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Israel, promising investment projects and exchanged other useful information. The prospects for the participation of representatives of Israeli business circles in the Tashkent Forum were discussed.

In addition, an Israeli newspaper Menorah published an interview with the president of HIT E. Yakubov, which is dedicated to the upcoming Tashkent Investment Forum in early March of this year. It says that the Tashkent Forum can become an effective platform for demonstrating the economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan, as well as signing mutually beneficial contracts with foreign companies in different sectors of the economy.

In the context of the prospects for broad mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Israel, E. Yakubov notes the profound positive changes that have occurred in Uzbekistan, which give rise to optimism.

According to him, today Uzbekistan is becoming an attractive country in the world for foreign investment and doing business, which opens up great opportunities for Israeli entrepreneurs.

According to the president of HIT, “Israeli experience, technology and know-how in the field of science, agriculture and water management, medicine, ICT and other areas are in demand for Uzbekistan. In general, the prospects for bilateral cooperation are unlimited. "
